For the first 3 semesters of the Heavy Equipment Technician program, you take the same courses as for the Electrical Power Generation Technician diploma. So that means when you complete the Heavy Equipment Technician program, you can enter into the fourth semester of the Electrical Power Generation Technician program. With one more semester of study, you can obtain an Ontario College Diploma, expand your skills, and your employment options.

Certificate in Mechanical Techniques – Plumbing | Fleming College

1-year College Certificate

This program will provide you with a variety of trade-specific skills, introducing you to installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, to enhance opportunities for employment.

In the two-semester Mechanical Techniques – Plumbing program, you will learn to:

  • Identify and install common plumbing fixtures in our multi-story KUBE structure

  • Assemble various piping systems related to plumbing

  • Interpret and create drawings, estimates, and material lists

  • Develop competencies in venting, waste, and drainage systems

  • Examine concepts in water and wastewater systems, including operations, back flow, and cross-connection

  • Explore renewable energy systems related to plumbing

  • Work competently with various hand and power tools

Graduates may find employment with independent contractors, building maintenance operations, or wholesale supply houses. And this program can also be your pathway to a plumbing apprenticeship Or rather than seeking employment immediately, So you may choose to add more trade skills to your toolkit with one of Fleming College’s programs such as Electrical Techniques, Welding Techniques, or Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning.
